oh_earwaxAh. The incident involving Miss Calogera was meant to proceed as quietly as possible, so naturally, the whole school knows.
Before the rumour mill begins milling, I think you students are owed an explanation, Miss Calogera's friends in particular. I am quite sure the news will reach the Prophet soon enough, so I don't believe I am out of line in informing you.
Miss Calogera has been taken into custody over a matter of Italian politics. Unfortunately, she has been implicated in a very serious matter, the full details of which I am not at liberty to divulge. I will, however, say that Miss Calogera has my unwavering support, and I shall not hesitate to come to her defence in court. So worry not, students: I am quite sure she will be back within our halls in little time.
It has also come to my attention that there has been a bit of commotion between our prefects recently, and I believe this as good a time as any to call a meeting. Could the prefects and Heads of each House report to me, please?

If you-- or any prefect-- again find yourself in a position where compromise cannot be made, I advise you to seek them out before attempting to solve your problems with projectiles.
