oh_earwaxWell. What an interesting adventure that must have been for all of us. I must admit the fault lies partially with me, although for the confidentiality of my guest, I'm afraid I cannot divulge any more than that. Rest assured, however, you were all perfectly safe, and so you shall always be, as long as I am at Hogwarts.
Furthermore, I feel that at this time I must stress-- and in fact I believe I cannot overstate the importance of my statement to follow-- the future is not etched in stone. It is a mutable, ever-changing thing, that may be altered from one moment to the next. I myself have already taken stock of several things I plan to do differently, if in fact I am again presented the opportunity to do them at all.
With all that being said, I do hope the bonfire tomorrow night shall raise all your spirits. I know of few things a roasted marshmallow or two cannot resolve.
